San Antonio Vein Specialist - Alan Crowther, MD
About the Doctor
A full time phlebologist, Dr. Crowther has a solo medical practice in north San Antonio. He is certified by the American Board of Phlebology (Diplomate), a certified vascular ultrasonographer (Registered Vascular Specialist) and is an active member of the American College of Phlebology. He enjoys being involved with all aspects of vein care and performs all evaluations and treatments himself.
Dr. Crowther is a graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He started medical practice in South Texas with the Navy at the Naval Air Station Beeville. From 1987 until 2007 he had a medical practice in Three Rivers, Texas. He has a wide range of experience including many years as an emergency department contract physician, EMS medical director and long term care physician in addition to a very large general medical practice. Much of his work has included outpatient surgical procedures.
He is a long term member of the American Medical Association and the Texas Medical Association (TMA). He is past president of the Bee-Live Oak-McMullin County Medical Society and served as a delegate to the TMA for fifteen years. He has served on both the EMS/Trauma and Physician Distribution Committees for the TMA. He is now a member of the Bexar County Medical Society.
He started his vein care practice in Three Rivers in 2005. Since then he has studied with many of the preeminent vein care specialists in the country and has attended numerous vein care specialty training courses and symposiums. He is an active member of the American College of Phlebology. In 2007 he moved his phlebology practice to San Antonio on a full-time basis.

The goal of Exclusive Vein Care (EVC) of San Antonio is to treat varicose and spider vein problems using minimally invasive techniques to give excellent results with little or no down time. These procedures are done on an outpatient basis in the EVC clinic in a comfortable, relaxed, professional atmosphere. Before any treatment is undertaken, the patient is informed about treatment options, costs and the relative benefits of each type of treatment. This facilitates optimal customized care for each patient.
